Fair Housing
Everyone gets the same welcome here.
Last updated October 14, 2026
Our commitment
Maple Leaf Retreats LLC follows the federal Fair Housing Act, the Missouri Human Rights Act, and the City of Columbia's own housing ordinance. We do not discriminate in renting, advertising, or any term or condition of housing.
Who is protected
Federal law protects race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status and national origin. Missouri law adds ancestry. Every one of our homes is in Columbia, where the city ordinance goes further still and also protects marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, source of income, receipt of governmental assistance, alienage or citizenship status, status as a victim of sexual or domestic violence, and order of protection status.
Housing vouchers are welcome
Columbia protects source of income, so a housing voucher or other lawful source of income is never a reason we turn an application down. Applicants using one are screened on exactly the same written criteria as everyone else.
What that means in practice
Every inquiry gets the same information, every applicant gets the same written screening criteria, and every home is open to everyone who qualifies. If you need a reasonable accommodation or a modification because of a disability, ask us. That request is welcome and it will not count against your application.
If you think we got it wrong
Tell us first, at (573) 886-8939, and we will look into it properly. You can also take it to any of these, and you do not need our permission to do so:
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Missouri Commission on Human Rights
- Columbia Human Rights Commission, HumanRights@CoMo.gov or (573) 874-6259
