★★★★★Our stay at Christi's place was wonderful. The place was clean, organized, and looked exactly like the pictures. She was super responsive to all our questions. The location is great — super close to Walmart, a Hy-Vee, and a Trader Joe's, as well as restaurants and a gym, with the Columbia farmers market just a 6-minute drive away. ★★★★★This was the absolute best Airbnb house I have stayed in and best experience with a wonderful host. The moment I walked into the house I felt home and just a sense of peace. The place smelled wonderful, the layout was perfect (no clutter), it was bright and clean. Christi went beyond what most other hosts provided and all the little extras made my month stay there enjoyable. I love the neighborhood. I made friends and my dogs made friends. The house is in a great location, close to grocery stores and restaurants and close to the hospital. There were plenty of places to walk my dog and close to many local trails and parks. ★★★★★Beautiful views, especially during the Fall! The location is a drive from campus but it was quiet & very private. Christi was very communicative and a wonderful host! When we arrived around dusk, we were underwhelmed…at first. But once we got out and walked around to the backside of the property & then inside, we were wonderfully surprised by how spacious & beautiful the property is! It’s an older home - with only one full bathroom upstairs and one full bathroom downstairs - but the upstairs is well cared for and the downstairs appears recently remodeled. We had 8 family members (2 adult couples & 4 teens) sharing the space and our only challenge was comfortable seating to accommodate everyone together - watching the MU game all together was difficult. The hot tub & fire pit were amazing & more than made up for any minor inconveniences! This was a PERFECT place for our Homecoming weekend and we hope to return! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The screen porch overlooks the trail, and it was fun to watch riders and walkers passing thru. There was plenty of room for 3 couples. ★★★★★There is a certain level of style you get with Airbnb that you expect, and every now and then, you find a little spot that outshines the rest. The Cottage is just that, a shiny little splice of heaven out on a gravel country road. The thought and care the host put into every room is obvious from the moment you walk in. Christi let us know the Katy Trail which stretches 240 miles across Missouri, was steps away from our stay and a mile down is Coopers Landing which had a special Cinco de Mayo event with live bands and food trucks. The Missouri River is a beautiful backdrop to a picturesque stay. could not have been more perfect. The rural surroundings were beautiful with the Katy Trail a few hundred yards away. I can only imagine how beautiful the area is during non-winter months. It smells like rotten eggs and was a real deterrent to drinking it. The filter in the refrigerator was very old and needed replacing so the water coming out of the refrigerator was very slow. The owner assured us that the water was safe to drink, but we just couldn't get past the smell. It sits across from the trail, great river views, loved the screened in porch, and appreciated the cleanliness and extra personal touches. We had lunch at Les Bourgeois the Bistro which is about 30min away in Rocheport (so worth it-love the views) and a super healthy meal at Nourish Cafe in downtown Columbia, MO. Stuff for s’mores was also greatly appreciated. We watched a family movie each night in the cozy basement. My husband LOVED the outdoor griddle, and cooked us breakfast there each morning. We cooked a couple of meals in the kitchen, slept soundly in the comfy bed at night, and spent hours on the screened porch enjoying the sunshine, the birds singing, and the river rolling by. We highly recommend the short drives to Cooper’s Landing and the Pierpont Store for live music and a drink. What a treat! On our last morning, we drank coffee on the front porch of the cottage and rocked away a couple of hours talking and soaking up the sun on our faces. Our dogs had a wonderful time and even found a red ball that was a true highlight of their trip. We were looking for a relaxing weekend, and we got it. It was truly good for our souls.
